Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 June 2026

Randora is built to be anonymous by default. We do not ask for your real name, email, or phone number, and we do not run user accounts. This policy explains the limited data we handle and why.

What we collect

  • Display name — a randomly generated nickname stored in your browser. You can change it; we do not link it to your identity.
  • Messages — held in server memory only and automatically deleted after 15 minutes. We keep no chat logs on disk.
  • Voice — voice is peer-to-peer (WebRTC). Audio flows directly between participants and is never recorded or stored by us.
  • Moderation signals — to enforce bans we process a device identifier (stored in your browser), your IP address, and a browser fingerprint (a hash of browser/device characteristics). These are used solely to keep banned users out.

What we store

Rooms, members, and messages live only in memory and disappear when the server restarts. The single exception is our ban list (usernames, device IDs, IP addresses, and fingerprints of banned users), which is persisted so that bans survive a restart. We retain no other history.

Cookies & local storage

We use your browser's local storage to remember your chosen nickname, theme, and device identifier. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users from imminent harm.

Children

Randora is for users aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
